Locked Keys in Car
From £100 at your door · £0 call-out
Keys dangling in the ignition, dropped in the boot, or a self-locking car that shut with the engine running — it happens to everyone once. We unlock the door safely and cleanly on-site: no bent frames, no scratched paint, no smashed glass, guaranteed — usually within 30–60 minutes and you're on your way.
No damage, guaranteed
We pick or decode the lock cylinder exactly as a main dealer would — Lishi picks and air wedges, not coat hangers. No bent frames, scratched paint or smashed glass. If we can't open it cleanly, you don't pay.
Fast when it matters
Typical response across the patch is 30–60 minutes. Child or pet locked inside? Call 999 first if there's any danger — otherwise say so when you ring us and the job jumps the dispatch queue, every time.
Every lockout scenario
Keys shut in the cabin with the engine running, shopping loaded and the fob locked in a deadlocked boot, or a work van with a slamlock engaged — cabins, tailgates and van deadlocks all opened cleanly.
From £100, price agreed first
Vehicle opening starts at £100 with no call-out fee on top, and we're fully insured. You're told the fixed price on the phone before the van moves — no roadside surprises.
Good to know
Common questions.
How do you unlock a car without the key?+
With the same non-destructive entry tools main dealers and breakdown services use — the lock is picked or the door decompressed and opened from inside, depending on the vehicle. No drilling, no broken glass, and your lock works normally afterwards.
How quickly can you get to me?+
Typically 30–60 minutes depending on where you are in the patch — Bradford and Shipley are usually at the fast end, York and the Dales a little longer. You get an honest ETA when you call, and a message when the van's close.
How much does it cost to unlock a car?+
From £100, agreed on the phone before we set off, with no call-out charge. Out-of-hours emergencies carry a supplement, which is also agreed upfront.
My child is locked in the car — what do I do?+
Call 999 if the child is in distress or the car is hot — the fire service will not wait, and neither should you. Otherwise call us immediately and say a child is inside: those calls take absolute priority and we'll talk you through it while the van is moving.
Will it damage my car?+
No — entry is non-destructive. That's the whole point of using an auto locksmith instead of a coat hanger: door seals, paintwork, wiring and the lock itself are all left exactly as they were.
